A new ministry to promote both spiritual and life skills is coming to Amelon,
beginning in July with a 3 week class
Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in classroom #3 unless otherwise noted.
7 Habits of Highly Effective People – July 16, 23 and 30. There will be a fee for the cost of the workbook.)
Connected: How to Use Social Media Effectively – August 20 and 27.
Make plans to attend and invite your neighbors! Typical classes will be one evening each week, lasting 2 or 3 weeks. You can register NOW on the website below or registration forms will be also be available in the church narthex. Please sign up by the Sunday before classes begin.

On July 20 at 8 a.m., Dr. William Berry will present Powerful Disciples Battling Worldly Super Weapons. He will be talking about addictions and what families, churches and communities can do to battle those addictions. Light breakfast provided.
July 20, 2019 -Hot Dog Social at Phelps Road School
Sat, July 20, 11:30am – 1:30pm the Evangelism Committee will sponsor a Hot Dog Social at the Old Phelps Road School with Music, FREE hotdogs and games. Come by to say hi, get to know your neighbors and grab a hot dog!
July 20, 2019 -Quest for Love Concert , 7-9 p.m.
The QUEST for LOVE Concert kicks off at Amelon United Methodist Church on July 20, 7 pm – 9 pm. Free admission, although LOVE offerings are appreciated to support future performances. Features The Duncan L. Wood Band performing a wide variety of music, all associated with different aspects of LOVE. There will also be an inspirational message/conversation between Pastor Mark Tinsley and the audience that will be as interesting as it is educational. There are no age restrictions for this performance, so all are encouraged to attend this surprising new take on the most popular subject of all time—LOVE!

August 8, 2019 -Amelon Travelers Day Trip
The Amelon Travelers will be hosting a day trip to Liberty University and Poplar Forest on August 8, 2019.
Tour Includes: Round trip motor coach transportation, guided tour of Liberty University and guided tour of Poplar Forest. Lunch is included. For further information contact Dot Morcom or Lynda Bullington .

August 11, 2019- School Supplies:
Beginning Sunday, August 11, 2019 through September 1, 2019 we will once again be collecting supplies for local schools. Items include paper, pencils, book bags, etc. A complete list can be found at Wal-Mart. If you prefer to make a donation, there will be a box in the narthex. Wednesday Night monthly Fellowship Dinners will resume at 6 p.m. Remember to fill out a reservation form or call the church office, this will let the kitchen committee know how many to prepare for. Great food and Great fellowship!
September 15, 2019- First Responders Appreciation Service and Luncheon
September 15, 2019 AUMC will honor our first responders and their families during the 10:53 a.m. service. A covered dish luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall. The church will provide the meats and beverages. Church members are asked to provide side dishes and desserts for their family and our guests.

October 27, 2019 -Women’s Conference at Amelon.
Amelon’s United Methodist Women are hosting an Aspire Event for Women. The event is one night-3 hours just for Women. It will be an evening full of laughter, learning, stories and music. The event will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2019. The cost of the event is $25 for General Admission and $35 VIP tickets ( early entry for a Question and Answer session with the speakers). You may purchase a ticket from Judy Dudley or by calling 480-812-1100, or online at: ASPIREWOMENSEVENTS.COM. Doors open at 4:00 PM for VIP Admission, 4:30 PM for General Admission and the event begins at 5:00 p.m and will end at 7:45 PM.

Park View Community Mission is in Need of Summer Servants
Are you looking for ways to stay busy during the summer? Park View Mission has a job for you! Many of our student volunteers from local colleges are home for the summer and the great work of sharing food with our neighbors continues. Can you help distribute food on Thursday or Saturday morning? Can you help stock? Can you help pick up? Can you take food in your car to a local school or recreation center?
